Four men in Portland allegedly committed a string of four robberies in two days. The four suspects now face a variety of significant criminal charges.
According to Portland police, the first alleged robbery occurred on March 5. Two of the four defendants are alleged to have entered a Portland bar at about 10:00 p.m. and pointed a firearm at a female customer. The woman was forced to surrender $509,000 to the two men.
Five days later, on March 10, two men with handguns approached a bar and ordered the bartender, who was closing the premises, to re-enter the bar. The two men allegedly stole a Samsung cellular phone, an assortment of liquor, cigarettes and an undetermined amount of cash. A third man allegedly stole a cellphone from a bystander.
Police said the three men left the scene in a Toyota van. The vehicle was later intercepted by police. According to police, they found one of the stolen cell phones in the car. The men were arrested and taken into custody. Several police operations ensued, and a quantity of liquor was recovered, along with a 9mm Luger pistol. An additional man was arrested as part of these investigations.
The four men now face a long list of charges, including aggravated robbery and assault.
If convicted, any of the suspects could face a significant term of imprisonment and an order for restitution or a fine.
