Some of our readers in Oregon City may have seen reports of an alleged carjacking that reportedly occurred in southeast Portland recently. Two people are facing charges stemming from the incident.

According to the reports, on August 31 during the morning commute hours a vehicle was allegedly stolen at gunpoint. After the incident was reported to law enforcement, officers reportedly found the car in question and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver allegedly did not cooperate and stop. At some point in the interaction the driver reportedly abandoned the vehicle and ran. A passenger in the vehicle was arrested, and a realistic-looking BB gun was found in the vehicle.

Later on, after multiple units of law enforcement officials joined in on the pursuit, the driver was reportedly found hiding in the crawlspace of a home near where the vehicle stopped. He was arrested and is facing multiple charges, as is the passenger who was arrested.
